The ways we work

Courageous -

A word sometimes associated with going out on your own. I’m not sure if this is a compliment, or like a human seeing an alien for the first time.

Sure, creative work can look different from the outside. Let’s dissect courageous, and see how the definition reveals its two opposing parts:

1. Not deterred by danger or pain

2. Brave

Part 1 seems to nod at stupidity - no amount of injury could deter this act. Part 2, to honor. Producing and publishing requires a certain degree of mental strength. In the face of difficulty, a maker endures.

So, does going out on your own feel fearless, honorable, or maybe both? How do people see your way of working?
